Theme of the Next Contest (Nov 20 to Dec 4):

Nascar, as decided by the next judge, fobya!

Fobya, a two-time winner of the contest, has chosen Nascar to be the next theme and will be judging the maps in the contest! Nascar is a somewhat simple style of mapping, with maps almost exclusively consisting of high-speed road parts. Maps are often multilap as well, which is why the time limit is 90s this time! The charm of nascar maps comes from the fact that at high speeds (400+), drifting is often slower than releasing acceleration, as drifts at those speeds reduce the control you have and force you to slow down a lot to not hit the outside walls on the track. Releasing at the right time allows you to do a tighter turn, and thus accelerate earlier, resulting in more exit speed. Nascar maps can really be anything from 450 to 1000 speed as long as the focus is on the road surface! As always, here are some general things to keep in mind. These are not requirements, but I strongly suggest you try your best to build your map with these tips in mind.

• Overwhelming majority of your map (90%+) should be Road surface (platform road included).
• Your map should focus on high speeds (400+). Slower maps tend to have more drifting than releasing, which brings them closer to speedtech than nascar.
• Make sure your map doesn't become a fullspeed map! Releasing on turns should be mandatory.
• If you're not finding the blocks you need, consider downloading some blocks from Item Exchange: https://item.exchange/
• Don't stress too much about specifics - a high-speed road map with release turns will be fine!
