It's been a while since I've ventured outside the stadium - close to 5 years to be more specific. And yet again I've built a line track, 2 Tiles wide, as always. Ever since the TMNF MTC of May 2011, I was quite interested in this kind of thing and taking it outside the stadium offers some more challenges.
Unlike all the other line track I have already built over at TMNF-TMX, this one offers something different. First of all, it's built in a new game (duh, thanks for telling us) and secondly I refrained from using any big jumps that require a certain speed and thus a cleaner run. Though that doesn't mean you can crash every single wall here and still finish the track.
This one is focused on transitions, which makes it inherently harder to drive until you figure out the correct line, while still offering room for some messy driving, as the transitions can be taken at a wider range of speed.
While building I went through many difficulties. At first the plan was to go for a longer track that's based on smooth jumps and drops. The end result was a 3 minute track with a corrupted file. Not cool, but I took that chance and went for a different approach. With a lot less airtime and only going over the whole length of the building area twice instead of three times, the track is also shorter now. Yay, only 1:40 minutes of pure joy
I was surprised at the variety of smaller transitions that just kept popping up during the building process. There's a lot possible, even given that the whole building area is only 2 tiles wide. Interestingly even wallrides are possible here, so I inlcuded two of those to spice things up.
TL;DR
almost two minutes of simple, transitional fullspeed action await you, built on a 2 tiles wide area.
