Shards - mini ice campaign

SHARDS is a mini ice campaign with 15 maps in a winter playground.

My aim with SHARDS was to re-create the feeling from old school platform games (hi fellow boomers), where each level had a different challenge and atmosphere, but still was part of a defined context and feeling. I wrote theme music for this world, which I chose not to include in the maps but which you can hear in the release trailer (added here under video).

During my initial mapping when I did concepts, I had visions of scrap heaps, black cargo containers and broken neon signs. Pretty soon, and beyond my control, SHARDS turned into something more organic with lush sand and cream colours. Which probably was for the better.

Much of the work on SHARDS was made with Ville's Twitch on my second screen, where he was mapping his forthcoming epic CORE endurance map. Thanks to Ville and chat for inspiration and company!

There is a crowdfunded $300 prize pool for the first month of the campaign. The leaderboard ( https://trackmania.io/#/campaigns/49465/34076 ) closes at 20.00 CET on February 14.
